Applicants with Permanent State of Wisconsin Social Worker Certification or Licensure will be hired at a starting annual salary of $39,124 per year base pay plus between $1.00 and $2.00 per hour add-on based on AODA certification level (SAC, CSAC, or SACIT). These positions include a State benefits package. A six-month probationary period will be required. Schedule and Range 12-06. Applicant must be certified or licensed as a Social Worker with a substance abuse specialty or also certified as a Substance Abuse Counselor by the State of Wisconsin, which includes temporary certification in order to be considered for this position. (SAC, CSAC, or SACIT) or substance abuse specialty certification from the State of Wisconsin. Correctional Institutions: Oakhill Correctional Institution in Oregon, Dane County; Oshkosh Correctional Institution, Winnebago County; Racine Youthful Offender Correctional Facility in Racine County; Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Plymouth, Sheboygan County; Social Workers who are certified or licensed as a Social Worker with a Substance Abuse Specialty or also certified as a Substance Abuse Counselor by the State of Wisconsin, can make a positive difference in the lives of Wisconsin's incarcerated population. These positions assess inmate problems and capacities, formulate case plans, provide treatment counseling individually and in groups, monitor inmates progress, etc. Treatment efforts will be coordinated with other institution staff, parole agents, inmate families, and community resources. These positions require the incumbent to possess current AODA treatment certification in the form of a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or Substance Abuse Counselor in Training (SACIT) or substance abuse specialty certification from the State of Wisconsin in addition to the Social Worker credential.
