The salary will be between $47,465 and $76,731 annually, plus excellent benefits. This classification is in the pay schedule/range 06-63. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill vacancies in the Electronics Technician Security Senior classifications that may occur at correctional institutions/facilities STATEWIDE during the next 6 to 12 months. Current vacancies: Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution (Sheboygan County); Racine Correctional Institution (Racine County); Racine Youthful Offender Correctional Facility (Racine County), Red Granite Correctional Institution (Waushara County). Position Summary: Under supervision, this position maintains, repairs, and calibrates electronic systems and equipment for the institution. The position also will plan and install new electronic security systems including modification and expansion of present systems. maintain, repair, and calibrate the most advanced and complex electronic systems and equipment. May need to respond to calls for emergency repairs during off hours. Special Notes: The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The DOC may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment. Applicants who fail or refuse the drug screen will not be given further consideration for employment. Qualifications: Knowledge of principles, practices, methods, material and techniques of the most advanced and complex electronic security hardware installation and repair; computer and security related electronic systems; function and use of test equipment such as test sources, test meters and oscilloscopes; institution rules, policies, procedures and philosophy. Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair systems containing tubes, semi-conductors and integrated circuits and a wide variety of specialized electronic equipment and computers; interpret drawings, specifications and schematics of complete systems; work effectively with contractors, consultants, engineers and staff.
