For more information watch our recruitment videos https://www.youtube.com/user/WisconsinDOC The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is seeking highly motivated individuals to fill our Correctional Officers vacancies in our secure correctional facilities statewide. Positions are available in minimum, medium, and maximum security adult male and female institutions. Upon appointment, candidates must complete a paid seven week pre-service training program in Madison starting in June 2015 which includes on-the-job training at an institution. During the training period candidates receive instruction on report writing, human/public relations, administrative rules, standards of conduct, weapons familiarization, supervision of inmates, communication skills, and crowd control techniques. Meals and lodging will be provided during the week for employees who reside more than 40 miles from the Madison Training Center located at 3099 E Washington Avenue, Madison, WI 53707. Upon completion of the training program, Correctional Officers will perform security related tasks in the institution of their choice.
