About the Mercury Marine Opportunity:
The Operations Management Extended Intern joins a community of talent that is #1 in its industry at Mercury Marine. Located in Fond du Lac, WI, this role reports to the Operations Production Manager
The Operations Management Extended Intern role is a unique opportunity for you to:
Work directly with other operations supervisors leading a team of production associates. Assign work, allocate resources, provide leadership and problem solve in a high paced manufacturing environment.
As the Operations Management Extended INtern at Mercury Marine, you willDirectly supervise a team of production associatesUnderstand and manage the key departmental metrics of Safety, Quality, Delivery and CostWork with the operations department to continuously improve the manufacturing process utilizing lean manufacturing techniques, make recommendations and implementEstablish work procedures and assign duties to assure production schedules are metPeriodically check employees work to assure compliance with expectations and that work is progressing at a satisfactory rateInterpret company policy to employeesActively demonstrate and enforce plant safety rulesReview performance of employeesProvide regular status updates to upper managementHold regular communication meetings with your production associatesImprove employee engagement; identify ways for your associates to get involved

Student of Sophomore standing or greater working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing Management or a related fieldAble to work full-time hours during school breaks and summer months with flexible work hours throughout the school year (min. 24 hours per week)GPA of 3.0 or greaterExcellent communication, organizational and leadership skillsDemonstrated problem solving skillsAbility to resolve conflict with diplomacy and tactLead by example. Consistent application and enforcement of policies and proceduresProficient in Microsoft Office
