Position Summary:

The Marketing Project Manager provides overall project management for key Mercury Racing brand marketing initiatives, new product launches, and other marketing programs.  This role is also responsible for assisting with the management of internal and external communications; including newsletters, email, social media, press releases, customer communications and other needs as assigned.

The role reports to the Brand Manager.  Success in this role requires timely delivery of a coordinated set of content development, event marketing, advertising, digital marketing, customer and consumer engagement, internal / external communications and media outreach initiatives.  It also requires an ability to manage budgets, prioritize expenditures, continually improve processes, and collaborate across functions.

Roles and Responsibilities:Project ManagementGather requirements – explore and identify brand marketing initiatives; new product launches; and other marketing programs from leadership and/or cross-functional partners.  Generates initial briefs and ensures alignment with members of brand team or leadership.Build and execute the plan - maintains timelines and resource utilization plans for the portfolio of projects underway.Communicate progress - facilitates identification of risks and opportunities and recommends corrective actions as necessary to increase probability of successful delivery across project portfolio.Develop and cultivate productive, collaborative relationships to identify marketing needs, document requests, and ensure alignment on success factors.Provide project management services cross-functionally as needed.Communications and Content DevelopmentManage annual editorial calendar, ensuring timely delivery of a variety of content across multiple brand channelsEnsure all vendors who contribute to brand content creation are meeting deadlinesHave administrative access to digital properties to assist in publishing contentProvide strategic public relations support to the brand and its leadership teamWrite press releases in AP styleEngage both industry and mainstream media for optimized brand exposureEmail MarketingShows and Events SupportAssist in managing key Racing events, including maintaining the event calendar and communicating event needs to various internal stakeholders and vendors.Manage the Mercury Racing tour truck schedule and displays; and vendors who support the tour truck.Attend key events as assigned to assist cross-functional teams with brand representationOperations Support and Process ImprovementSupport the Brand Manager in developing and defining key marketing processes, including printed marketing material development, advertising development, campaign definition and implementation, new product marketing launch, etc.Assist and support other departments/divisions to promote best practices in marketing process implementation, project execution, etc.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.Minimum 5 years professional experience, 3+ in a marketing or public relations role. Project management experience, including track record of successful project delivery.Strong professional communications experience.Experience working with outside resources (agencies, freelancers, consultants)Legacy of accomplishment working with people at all levels to deliver business results.Creative, decisive, collaborative, responsive, able to work independently and take responsibility for decisions and outcomes.  Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.Understands the end in mind and drives high quality execution from start to finish.Passion for racing and/or high performance boating or similar a strong plus.Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, along with other relevant business softwareAbility to travel periodically to support shows, events, product launches, etc.Ability to internalize the Mercury Racing brand such that all work is performed in a manner consistent with Mercury Racing brand standards.
