Opportunity Snapshot:

Under the direction of the Technical Service Manager, the Production CAD Associate creates drawings in support of Sales and Production, including Customer reference, component drawings, accurate BOMs, construction details, and installation documentation. 

A Day in the Life:

  • Create accurate and detailed models (Part, Sub-Assembly and Assembly) per defined Inventor Standards, for use by Programming and for Production creation. This can be through either traditional Part Modeling and Assembly or Solid Body Modeling techniques.
  • Create detailed shop drawings for production, which may include modifying or adding detail and dimensions to existing drawings, or creating new drawings.
  • Coordinate all product introduction with the Engineering BOM team and Manufacturing shop floor by providing drawings to support the production process.
  • Manage Engineering Service Requests(ESR) for drawings from submittal to completion, with constant communication to the requestor on expected milestones and completion date
  • Create and manage Excel spreadsheets to track or maintain project scopes
  • Organize and maintain drawing files and folders for storage and retrieval.
  • Participate in and contribute to the development, implementation and refining of EIS Inventor Standards.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations; Maintain departmental drafting and file management standards.
  • Work directly with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management Production, Design and CAD resources to ensure product delivery
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Associate or B.S. degree in Drafting or Mechanical/Architectural Design preferred or equivalent industry-specific experience in a similar role.
  • Previous exposure to Autodesk Inventor and/or use of other 3D Modeling software. Previous work with Vault product data management software is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD  
  • Ability to work well in a deadline-driven open plant environment
  • Possess strong communication skills, and ability to work independently as required
  • Basic understanding of cabinetry layout, steel fabrication, and construction assembly techniques a plus
